Hit Squad News:

Hit Squad rolls to 4-1 record in first 5 games of the season. Great hitting and timely defense setting the tone. Solid pitching from Jerry Winterstein and some nice defensive plays from Stevie Klein and Brian Hill also helped. Recaps of the first 5 games can be found below:

May 22nd vs SwitchHitters: Hit Squad 22 SwitchHitters 12. Solid 12 run first inning leads the way for the squad. Mike Myerson lead the offensive charge with 3 triples to go along with some solid denfense in the outfield.

May 15th vs Titans: Hit Squad 18 Titans 17. Another great hitting performance for the Hit Squad. Game went back and forth all game. In the final inning down by 2 Terry Cappelen Jr. singled home a run with 1 out and then the Hit Squad loaded the bases after the Mother Chucker took a walk which brough home a run, Jeff Schlee line a single up the middle for the game winning hit.

May 8th vs Closers: On Mothers Day the last place team Closers who in 3 games gave up a combined 125 runs while only scoring 7 did not show up. This is a victory for the Hit Squad in the standings and a 7-0 score goes to the tiebreaker.

May 1st doubleheader vs LBP and TBA: Game 1 Hit Squad 13 LBP 23. LBP just put the ball where they wanted and the Hit Squad couldn't get it going early on. Solid pitching from Jerry Winterstein wasn't enough to get the squad over the hump.

Game 2 Hit Squad 23 TBA 7. The bats heated up for game 2 of the doubleheader. 2 triples a piece by Brian Hill and Terry Cappelen caped a good day of softball. Solid defense by Mike Naymola and Scott Ubert lead the way in the field. Another outstanding pitching performance by #5 Jerry Winterstein.
